Sometimes it appears as if people you ejected are "still there". If you have the correct group for the sim you are on, and you have switched to resident tag, you can use ban/eject anywhere on the sim. They often don't work, and group permissions are often the things don't work in them. What viewer are you using? If you are using Phoenix or some third-party viewer you have to go to their help groups. This isn't the norm and it's only happening for you, and not for any reason that is comprehensible to me. Why is that? what is going on? I'm not enjoying peopel breaking into my house and using my things When wearing my resident Tag I can't eject people from my House.

After I give her a full notecarded explanation: I find that that this Lilith cannot get ban to work, even though the griefer is long gone, the other tenant has at least put his name in the list somehow, or her own actions in fact worked and she didn't realize it, so there isn't a problem, but she keeps nagging at me. But now the neighbour is also saying that she can't ge the ban list or ban to work - the ban list is blank. They come over, and they somehow get the person banned - I see the name in the list. So she violates that, but someone offers to help her. I have a rule that you cannot bother the group but have to reach the manager. Tonight, I get this tenant complaining - doing it in the group, demanding people help her, upset at somebody named Officer Turbo of the Narcissistic Club (lol), not related to Woodbury, who simply won't go away and is flying around harassing people evidently. I've done this for months and months on end. I send them to user groups and the forums. Most of the time it works.Įvery week I get somebody hopelessly frustrated with Phoenix. Rarely is it that they can override bans - it's usually more something to do with just the inability to get the motions lined up. To be sure, on any viewer (and frequently on Phoenix it seems), clicking to ban people sometimes doesn't work for various reasons - you're too far away, they move, the sim lags, they ghost. I often recommend the latter - it can be more thorough and you get feed back - the name is there or it is not there. You use ban/eject powers on an avatar bothering you, or you type in their name in the ban list. This isn't something you can give "part way". If you have ban powers in a group, it's pretty straightforward - you have ban powers in a group.

And that's why I decided to stage this riot below and publish this discussion - it's the only way that you can get arrogant asshole coders to show more curiosity about what is wrong with their software and to start heeding their customers with problems and not pretending that it is a group role problem. They have that same impervious inability to have curiosity about what's wrong and why it doesn't work. Instead of investigating this with curiosity as a software problem on Phoenix's side, Phoenix tells tenants of mine that they are the problem or I'm the problem.
But a certain hardy and persistent percent DO have problems, and neither Phoenix will do anything about it, nor will these users grasp that Phoenix is their problem, not "my land". This doesn't happen with EVERYBODY using Phoenix - lots of people use it and have no problems and I never hear from them.
It goes in spurts every few weeks, and I get a few customers nagging and fretting about not being able to join the group, or switch titles, or use ban. I've found the Phoenix Viewer - the hardly-disguised reincarnation of the banned Emerald viewer - to be constantly facing problems with group permissions/group joining/eject ban.
